Hi, I’m Angela Nunez, a therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I’m originally from Puerto Rico, and I proudly offer therapy sessions in both English and Spanish. My background and lived experiences shape the way I connect with clients, allowing me to approach therapy with cultural sensitivity, empathy, and genuine understanding.

I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel understood, respected, and free to be themselves. I’m also currently pursuing my PhD in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Psychology, which deepens my understanding of human behavior, trauma, and the ways larger systems impact mental health. This perspective allows me to support clients with both compassion and insight, while focusing on growth, resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.

How can I help you?

I work with teenagers, young adults, couples, and adults who may be navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional stress, or personal growth. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing from evidence-based practices such as CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, while tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of every client.

My Philosophy on Mental Health

I believe mental health is deeply connected to understanding ourselves, our experiences, and the relationships we build with others. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming at times, but they do not define who we are. With compassion, curiosity, and the right support, meaningful growth and healing are possible. My approach focuses on helping clients build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop a healthier relationship with their emotions, empowering them to navigate life with greater balance, resilience, and self-compassion.

How Do I Practice Self-Compassion?

I practice self-compassion by reminding myself that progress doesn’t have to be perfect. I give myself permission to slow down, set healthy boundaries, and recharge. Whether that means taking a moment to breathe, traveling somewhere new, or enjoying good food and meaningful connections.

Fun Facts About Me:

When I’m not in the therapy room, I love traveling and trying new foods, and I enjoy learning about different cultures along the way.
